Opus 1 Music Studio - Group Classes

Opus 1 Music Studio is happy to announce our 2015 Group Music Classes in Palo Alto and Mountain View. We offer classes in Piano, Voice, Guitar, and Violin. These classes will inspire young students by developing basic music skills through interactive lessons and musical games! Classes range from 30-45 minutes. Opus 1 teachers are all university or conservatory trained musicians.

Piano Class
(age 4-5 - 30 minutes; age 6-8 - 45 minutes)

Voice Class
(age 4-6 - 30 minutes; age 7-12 - 45 minutes)

Guitar Class
(age 8-11 - 45 minutes)

Thollem McDonas

Thollem McDonas is a pianist, composer, improviser and teacher. He travels perpetually internationally performing as a soloist as well as in collaboration with a wide array of artists in wildly divergent directions.
He resides in Pacifica, just south of San Francisco, during the summer months.

Anette Skloot

Anette Skloot began studying, performing and teaching music while still living in her native Sweden. She earned her degree in music at UC Berkeley where she studied with Janet Maestre, and has spent over 20 teaching flute and piano in her private studio, teaching in various after-school programs, including the Crowden School, and has occasionally worked as an accompanist. She has recorded on two widely released CDs and lives in El Sobrante with her classical guitar playing husband and violin playing son.

Lisa Maresch

Pianist Lisa Maresch grew up with an eclectic taste in music from playing the Japanese taiko drums, playing extravagant shows on the Las Vegas “Strip,” to performing classical concerts for outreach programs across the country. She has built a career as solo pianist, a collaborative pianist, and an educator.

Cindy Jihyun Lee

Started playing piano at age 5 and placed in Korean News Daily Competition at the age of 9. Went through one of the most prestigious music education routes from Junior High to Post-graduate studies with scholarship and dean's award.

As a solo pianist, accompanying pianist (chamber music) and as a composer, Cindy Lee combines her performance experiences as a solo or as an accompanying pianist with her strong academic understanding of music as a composer into her teachings.

Music for Little Mozarts

The Music for Little Mozarts program provides age appropriate, preparatory piano lessons for children ages 4-6. This innovative piano introduction course offers a fun, imaginative, and enjoyable learning experience for young beginners. Teach them right from the beginning while promoting overall development. The Music for Little Mozarts curriculum is specifically designed to teach young beginners using a combination of a piano technique, musicianship, listening skills, singing and musical games.

Candice Choi

Passionate about educating tomorrow’s world, Miss Choi finds joy in cultivating a love and appreciation of music in her students! Her students love performing, composing, improvising, and getting creative with music! They have won Composition Contests in their age division, performed at Communiversity, a street festival in downtown Princeton and one student even won Miss New Jersey by performing her musical composition, €œPeaceful Forest€!
