For the audition we ask you to:
- Sing a prepared song or aria (any style), or your voice part's line in a portion of a standard, classical choral work
- Bring two copies of your music, one for yourself and one for accompanist
- Perform sight-singing of short musical excerpts
- Repeat back short melodies played on the piano
Our duo represents more than 100 years of experience playing a wide variety of musical genres. We are classically trained musicians who are now retired and play for our own enjoyment and for the enjoyment of others. We are available to play for a wide variety of events and our rates are reasonable. We will dress appropriately for your event and have a PA system if the size of the venue requires it. Out repetoire is extensive, ranging from Baroque to Latin American to modern composers. We will be happy to provide a list of piece currently in our repertoire on request.
Lacuna Arts is expanding its 16-voice Ensemble to 20 voices for an upcoming program of a cappella music for double choir, featuring works by Monteverdi, Scarlatti, Palestrina and Gabrieli. Rehearsals are Mondays 6:30 - 9:30pm in San Francisco beginning Jan. 6, with performances Mar 28 and 30. Email [email protected] to schedule an audition.

Our Music Director checks for voice range, blend, sight-reading ability, & musicianship. No solo song demonstration necessary. He might ask you to sing something by yourself, after he’s played through whatever it is with you. It might be something you’ve sight read.
Christian started and completed his formal music studies at the Conservatorio Superior de Música ¨Padre Antonio Soler¨ (El Escorial, Spain) obtaining a B.A. in Guitar Performance (2002).
In 2017 he received a Music Department Scholarship Award from San Francisco State's School of Music and completed a Master's of Music Program in Classical Performance graduating cum laude in 2019.
His repertoire includes music from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical and Contemporary time periods.

Bay Area Strings performs classical, contemporary, rock, and jazz music for weddings, corporate events, and private parties throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, Napa/Sonoma, Monterey/Carmel, and Sacramento. Our string quartet, trio, and duet are available to suit different venues and budgets.
Michelle is a professional harpist who has been performing professionally since 1977! She performs more than 150 events per year, and is internationally known in the jazz, classical, & composition fields.
Michelle can provide the perfect accompaniment for your ceremony, music for your reception, music for your special event, or music for a memorial service. Also, flute & harp or violin & harp are beautiful duos for your ceremony or other event, while soprano saxophone and harp are fabulous for your lively, "jazzy" event/reception.
MEDIA, FILM SCORES, TV:
I have played weddings, engagements, private dinner parties, memorial services, birthdays, wineries, restaurants, private concerts etc. Where there is a need for music I am happy to provide and incorporate any requests my clients have. The music is always light and although very exciting at times, never obtrusive to the listeners or guests. Please contact me if you are looking for solo guitar or a versatile band.
