The KSO, Geoffrey Gallegos, Music Director and Conductor, offers a program for the holidays that juxtaposes two of western music's great titans: J.S. Bach and Gustav Mahler. The program features Kay Stern, Concertmaster of the SF Opera Orchestra and Jason Totzke, Concertmaster of the KSO as soloists in Bach's Double Violin Concerto in D minor. After intermission, the orchestra will perform Mahler's sublime Symphony No. 4 in G Major, featuring soprano Aléxa Anderson in the Finale singing "Das Himmlische Leben" (Heavenly Life) the song from his Des Knaben Wunderhorn that inspired, and was the genesis of the entire Symphony. Don't miss this heavenly pairing of great music!
