McGill is one of America’s most celebrated classical musicians. Since his performance at President Obama’s first inauguration in 2009, McGill has been nominated for a Grammy Award, won the 2020 Avery Fisher Prize, and collaborated with a long list of artists and orchestras. And in 2024, he was named Musical America’s Instrumentalist of the Year.
