Sacred & Profane chamber chorus has openings for voices in all sections (SATB). If you are an experienced singer with a healthy voice & a great attitude, please audition with us for this extraordinary 2015 season.

We'll begin the season in February 2015 with a Valentine's themed concert, featuring gorgeous love songs by composers such as Palestrina, Lauridsen, Lassus, and others. Our May 2015 concert, which will be performed with a full wind ensemble (!), will feature the Bruckner's Mass in E Minor as well as Stravinsky's Mass.

AMERICAN CANYON SINGERS ANNOUNCE 2014-2015 SEASON

Our 3rd season brings us many good tidings! We will begin our year on Monday September 8 with an exciting program ‘Christmas in Blue’. It will include Mass in Blue which has become an audience favorite on both sides of the Atlantic, as well as Holly Jolly Christmas, Boogie Woogie Holiday, Yorkshire Wassail and other holiday favorites. Don’t miss a chance to sing this program with us on Saturday December 6.

We would like to invite everyone who loves to sing inspiring and fun music in a stunning neo-Gothic building and acoustics in downtown Oakland to come and try singing with our choir. The Temple Choir as it is called (because of the magnificent cathedral-like sanctuary of the church) has always been a leader in community choral singing. For many years, our choir led performances of oratorios and cantatas bringing together hundreds of singers from all over Bay area. Now, we would like to restore that tradition and we call upon all of you to join us!

Bay Area Classical Harmonies (BACH) is pleased to announce our choral singer auditions for the 2014-15 season. We are seeking intermediate to advanced chorus members with pleasant singing voices and significant choral experience. We are auditioning all parts.

The Chamber Ensemble performs at the highest musical standards. Those auditioning will be asked to vocalize, sing a brief solo of their choosing (aria, folk song, show tune, etc.) and sight-read choral selections provided. Auditions are by appointment with Artistic Director, David Morales. Rehearsals are Monday evenings in Lafayette.

A program of a cappella works from various eras appropriate for Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter.

Our Fall 2014 trimester, Holiday Light and Love, celebrates the Christmas holiday with works a cappella and accompanied. The joys and beauties of Christmas are expressed in French Baroque composer Marc-Antoine Charpentier's delightful Messe de Minuit pour Noël, with more contemporary Christmas texts and sounds in Norman Dello Joio's The Holy Infant's Lullaby and Conrad Susa's Three Mystical Carols.

Since its founding in 2006, sixty-voice Chora Nova has become an important part of the San Francisco Bay Area’s cultural fabric. Based in Berkeley, California, it is known as a chorus that presents innovative programs featuring a mix of well-known and unusual works. Programs such as Baroque masterpieces by Handel and Kuhnau, or the contemporary cantata St. Nicholas by Benjamin Britten are prime examples. In the 2012-2013 season we presented the rarely heard Mass in D Minor by Hummel.

Sharpen your sight-reading skills and musicality! Sing with Viva la Musica, a choir based in Foster City. Shulamit Hoffman is a rare treasure—a collaborative conductor who invites discussion on musicality and technique in her rehearsals. The music is a mix of rare and traditional works and new work, sometimes barely off the press!
