The final program of the Trinity Alps Chamber Music Festival 2022 Summer Season, Centuries of Sound, will bring musicians to the San Francisco Bay Area for a pair of concerts at two spectacular venues.
On Saturday night, June 25, they will perform in downtown Oakland at The Sound Room, a venue that has partnered with Scarfe and the Trinity Alps Chamber Music Festival to bring classical musicians to the casual and intimate atmosphere of a jazz club.
The final concert, a matinee on Sunday, June 26, will be held in the ballroom of the historic Century Club of California, a rare venue that offers both an elegant and superb acoustical space as well as a focused and intimate environment.
These final concerts will feature two commissioned works, Triptych, A Priori by Roseminna Watson and Ocean Park by Danny Clay, as well as classical favorites by Dvořák and Mozart, and other rare gems such as Rebecca Clarke's Midsummer Moon and Jessie Montgomery's Duo for Violin and Cello.
As a nod to the genre-crossing experience of classical and contemporary music in a jazz club, the ensemble will also bridge another stylistic gap by performing John Mackey's string trio Wrong Mountain Stomp, a tale of adventure, heartbreak, and exaltation that uses old-timey bluegrass styles within the chamber music idiom.
