Greetings Opera Cocktales Fans, Friends and Family!!
From what we understand, in the traditions of the British Isles, the May Queen or Queen of May
is the personification of the May Day holiday and represents the coming of the upcoming growing season.
She often has a chosen consort, the May King, dressed entirely in green to represent spring.
Though our operatic nobility may not appear in May Day Green,
there are plenty of Queens, Kings, wayward princes, exotic princesses
(and the occasional frog) in the operatic canon to fill
our May performance with their regal crowns.
Ambitious and lusting for glory, power or love,
the queens and kings evoked by our greatest composers
are never truly satisfied with the life or riches they already possess.
Hmmm, sounds like what's playing out on the world stage right now, doesn't it?
Soooo, why not JOIN US
for an evening of soaring operatic royalty?
(We promise you a fiery performance worthy of that second noble martini)
Sit back and enjoy the finest aristocratic cocktail (or mocktail) in town while we sing for you....
Now, what could be better than that???
