Ukrainian Pianist and Van Cliburn Winner Captivates Audiences
Steinway Society – The Bay Area will present Vadym Kholodenko, who is fast building a reputation as one of the most musically vibrant and technically gifted young pianists, on November 12 at the Visual and Performing Arts Center, located at De Anza College in Cupertino. The live concert will also be live-streamed online during the performance and will be viewable for 48 hours following the concert. More Information: Gold Medalist of the 2013 Cliburn Competition, Kholodenko captivated audiences and critics alike, with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra immediately appointing him as their first Artist-in-Partnership. He has released recordings of works by Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Grieg, Saint-Saëns, Prokofiev, and Medtner. His latest solo disc on Harmonia Mundi, presenting compositions of Scriabin, won the prestigious Diapason d’Or de l’année. Kholodenko was born in Kiev, Ukraine and gave his first concerts at the age of 13 in the USA, China, Hungary and Croatia. He studied at the Moscow State Conservatoire under the renowned teacher, Professor Vera Gornostaeva.
