This exciting and entertaining FREE orchestra concert consists of 4 classical music pieces. The program features talented local musician Ross Gershenson as horn soloist in a concerto composed by Lee Actor, a South Bay Area composer. Actor's Horn Concerto was awarded the International Horn Society's top prize in their Concerto Competition in 2007, and has been performed around the world. Other pieces to enjoy are Ravel's 'Alborado del gracioso', and Debussy's seldom heard 'Berceuse Heroique'. The Saratoga Symphony seldom performs any piece of music more than once, but this concert proves to be the exception, as one of Maestro Klein's favorite pieces, last performed in 2000, will be performed once again! That piece is Dohnányi's Suite in f#-minor, a delightful four movement romp through a romantic scenario.
