The Christmas Truce

Presented by Santa Clara Chorale

This December, the Santa Clara Chorale invites you to witness The Christmas Truce, a concert that breathes life into one of history’s most poignant moments of peace. On a cold winter’s night in 1914, as the thunder of war momentarily fell silent, soldiers from both sides of the Western Front set aside their differences and came together—singing familiar carols, exchanging simple gifts, and sharing in the spirit of Christmas, even amidst the devastation of war.

Through the power of music and the words of soldiers who lived this remarkable event, The Christmas Truce brings to life this fleeting, fragile truce—reminding us that even in the darkest moments of conflict, the light of humanity and hope can never be fully extinguished. Join us as we weave together the voices of the past with timeless carols, paying tribute to this extraordinary display of unity that still resonates today.
