
Join the San Jose’s Wind Symphony’s for “Fiesta,” a vibrant celebration of the rich musical heritage of Mexico, conducted by Dr David Vickerman. This exciting concert features an array of music that define the spirit of Mexico, from traditional music, through classical to contemporary works by composers by renowned Mexican composers Silvestre Revueltas, Nubia Jaime-Donjuan, Genaro Codina, and Juan Pablo Contreras.

Dr Torres-Ramos is an Assistant Professor of Ethnomusicology and Mariachi in the School of Music at San José State University (SJSU). His research examines how lived experience is musically ritualized within sound, embodiment, and performance in Latin American milieus, with a specialized focus on Mexico’s modern mariachi tradition
