The San Francisco Girls Chorus (SFGC) presents its highly anticipated annual concert at Davies Symphony Hall with a concert program inspired by folk music traditions. The holiday celebration brings together singers from the award-winning Premier Ensemble, the Chorus School, and SFGC alumnae, featuring acclaimed accordionist and 2023 Latin Grammy nominee Sam Reider. SFGC and Sam Reider combine traditional holiday favorites with new works and hidden gems from the holiday choral repertoire to create an evening of folk music traditions from around the world. Praised by NPR as creating “highly creative, original music,” the San Francisco-based Sam Reider has performed, recorded, and collaborated with a range of artists including Jon Batiste, Jorge Glem, Sierra Hull, Laurie Lewis, and Paquito d’Rivera. The San Francisco Girls Chorus is a GRAMMY Award winning ensemble of “exceptional young musicians.” (San Jose Mercury News)
