Join Clea Galhano for this Demo/Play-along class in which recorder players and continuo instrumentalists will play several movements of Handel recorder sonatas, addressing musical contrasts and expressive affetti.

The Handel sonatas for recorder are a staple of every recorder player’s repertoire. Join Clea Galhano for an exciting class which will feature movements of the Handel sonatas in C Major (Larghetto), D Minor (Vivace) and F Major (Larghetto and Gigue) emphasizing contrasts of affetti, tempi, articulation, and rhetorical stress. You will gain insight into effective stylistic approaches that will leave your audiences breathless! Play-along continuo tracks (for both recorder players and continuo instruments) and scores will be provided in advance to allow you to practice and prepare your parts.
