Summer Festival Chorus: Mendelssohn | Elijah

Presented by San Francisco Choral Society

Summer Festival Chorus: Mendelssohn Elijah header

The San Francisco Choral Society 35th anniversary season continues as it returns to Davies Symphony Hall on Saturday, August 10, at 8pm, for its 3rd annual Summer Festival Chorus, bringing singers from around the country and world to join our resident, San Francisco and Bay-Area based singers to perform Felix Mendelssohn’s oratorio masterwork, Elijah. Based on the dramatic biblical story of the prophet’s life, the oratorio is expressed through Mendelssohn’s thrilling musical storytelling, brilliant arias, and grand and vibrant choruses.

The San Francisco Choral Society, San Francisco Girls Chorus, California Chamber Symphony and soloists will be led by San Francisco Choral’s Artistic Director, Robert Geary, winner of the 2023 Chorus America Michael Korn Award.
