Appear and Inspire: Hymn to St. Cecilia

Presented by San Francisco Bay Area Chamber Choir (SFBACC)

Join us for “Appear and Inspire: A Hymn to St. Cecilia,” an evening of choral music honoring the patron saint of musicians, St. Cecilia. The program features works by influential composers, from the energetic rhythms of Elliott Carter’s Musicians Wrestle, Everywhere to the reflective beauty of Dale Trumbore’s Light of Late November. You’ll also hear the sacred tones of Olivier Messiaen’s O sacrum convivium and Benjamin Britten’s masterful wartime composition, Hymn to St. Cecilia. The concert concludes with Aaron Copland’s majestic and expansive In the Beginning for chorus and soloists which brings the creation story of Genesis to life. Celebrate with us the richness of choral music and its ability to inspire.
