The Oakland Civic Orchestra, conducted by Artistic Director Martha Stoddard and Assistant Conductor Andrew O'Donnell,  presents its season fInale “Legends,” featuring Alex Strachan in the exciting world premiere of Legend: Concerto for Horn and Orchestra by composer-in-residence Nikolaus Umar Durr. Bookended by Jean Sibelius’ legendary Symphony No. 5 and the Nocturne from his King Christian Suite No 2, the program also features the colorful Scarlet Sculptures by emerging Australian composer Naomi Dodd.
