Cellist Dmitri Atapine and a host of internationally renowned artists present a captivating two-day residency on film and music. Join us and explore the vibrant world of Libby Larsen, and her dive into the smoky atmosphere of film noir, Dmitry Shostakovich and his relationship to Soviet cinema, the chamber music of Nino Rota, the man behind The Godfather, Patrick Castillo and his fascination with Ingmar Bergman, and the “Father of Soundtrack”, Erich Wolfgang Korngold.
On March 28, the artists present an interactive discussion with musical demonstrations, before performing the works discussed on March 30. Discover what makes great film music, how movies inspired composers, and how classical music connects us to the silver screen.
