Second Sunday Recital Series

The Second Sunday Basilica Recital Series continues February 9th, 4 p.m., with organist, AIDAN YAU.

Aidan Yau, 15, is a sophomore at Foothill High School in Pleasanton. He began singing and playing piano at 6. He studied piano under Prof. Eleanor Wong in the Junior Music Program at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and is currently studying with her sister, Helen Wong, in the Bay Area. Aidan's passion for the organ blossomed in 2021, when took lessons given by his middle school. In June 2023, he restarted his organ studies with Dr. Angela Kraft Cross. Currently, Aidan is an Organ Scholar at the Congregational Church of San Mateo (CCSM). Over the last year, has served as a substitute organist at several churches on the Peninsula, including CCSM, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, and First Presbyterian Church in Burlingame. After the San Francisco Peninsula Organ Academy gifted him a generous scholarship, he traveled to France on an intensive organ study trip this winter. There, he took lessons with many renowned organ teachers in literature and improvisation. He also accompanies the Foothill High School choirs.

The program is Free with a suggested donation of $10 in support of the Basilica Music Ministries.
