KONTRAPUNKTUS presents THE LONDONERS: An English Baroque Salute

Presented by Kontrapunktus

Kontrapunktus In Concert

KONTRAPUNKTUS returns this January with five winter performances of its new, glorious production, “THE LONDONERS: An English Baroque Salute,” which spotlights the brilliant musical artistry of British, Scottish, and Irish composers during the Baroque era, including George Frideric Handel, William Boyce, Charles Avison, Carl Friedrich Abel, and Henry Purcell.

Together, the brilliant artistry of these composers elevated the London music scene in the late 17th and early 18th century through the formation of a unique, scintillating sound that was a fusion of Italian and German musical styles.  This sound would evolve into what became known as Galant music, which attracted young protégés like Mozart to London, and became the precursor for Classical music.

Please make plans to join us for an indelible evening of riveting and timeless music!
