Is there anything more satisfying to the soul than the solo Bach Cello Suites? Come hear two of them on November 30th, plus the second of Benjamin Britten's solo cello suites, which was written for, and first recorded by Rostropovich in the 1960s.
Swiss-American cellist Frédéric Rosselet is equally at ease on modern and period instruments. He'll play the Bach on a baroque cello and the Britten on a modern one.
Originally from Lausanne, Switzerland, now a San Francisco resident, Frédéric has performed with many well known ensembles, both locally and internationally and is on the music faculty at Santa Clare University. His debut album in 2012 included two of the Bach cello suites as well as several pieces played on modern cello.
Round out your Thanksgiving weekend with some glorious solo cello.
