Tell me the truth about love

Presented by Courtney Miller, mezzo-soprano

Courtney Miller and Kevin Korth present “Tell me the truth about love” at The 222

Nothing can truly prepare us for the Reality of Life; it’s a rollercoaster.  But through trial and error, and a little intuition, we forge connections and pursue love.

Courtney has created a new through-line narrative story of a woman’s loves, using art songs, musical theater, and cabaret pieces. This all-English program is comprised of works by female and LGBT+ composers and poets. The intimacy of the art song recital setting allows us to examine our flings and flops, breakups and breakdowns, and loves and losses.

Come join us for a celebration of the human existence.

Composers include: B.E. Boykin, Benjamin Britten, Jake Heggie, Lori Laitman, Libby Larsen, and Stephen Sondheim; and Poets include: Gwendolyn Bennett, Emily Dickinson, Liz Lockhead, Muriel Rukeyser, and Sara Teasdale.

This program features mature language and content and may not be suitable for all audiences.
