CSMA distinguished faculty member Ihang Lin, Bay Area violinist Debra Fong and St. Lawrence String Quartet cellist Christopher Costanza team up for “Faure, Debussy and Ravel: Music of the Great French Innovators.” Enjoy this special afternoon of influential classical works.
ABOUT THE MUSICIANS
Dr. Ihang Lin (CSMA Distinguished Faculty): Invited as a winner of the American Protégé Concerto Competition, pianist Ihang Lin made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2012 performing piano solo works by Maurice Ravel. Her professional awards include a special recognition award in 2012 from the San Antonio International Piano Competition and 1st prize in the 2009 Aaron Richmond Piano Competition. Over the past few years, she has been selected as a competitor for several international piano competitions. She holds her Bachelor of Music degree from Taipei National University of the Arts, Master of Music from New England Conservatory, and Doctor of Musical Arts from Boston University.
Christopher Costanza: For over three decades cellist Christopher Costanza has enjoyed a varied and exciting career as a soloist, chamber musician, and teacher. A winner of the Young Concert Artists International Auditions and a recipient of a prestigious Solo Recitalists Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, Mr. Costanza has performed to wide critical acclaim around the country and the world. He has been a member of the St. Lawrence String Quartet since 2003 and is an Artist in Residence at Stanford University.
Debra Fong: Violinist Debra Fong is Concertmaster of the Peninsula Symphony, Associate Concertmaster of the San Jose Chamber Orchestra, and Principal Second Violinist of the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra. She spends her summers as a first violinist with the Grammy Award-winning Santa Fe Opera Orchestra. Also a dedicated teacher, Debra is a Lecturer in Music at Stanford University, teaching violin and chamber music and she maintains a private violin studio.
