TOUR OF BAROQUE MASTERS
Community Concerts at Epworth brings live music back to its indoor concert venue with a sumptuous program of chamber works by masters of the baroque period. In honor of J.S. Bach's birthday, our concert includes a performance of his Prelude in E flat Major, BWV 998. The concert will be dedicated to the many displaced musicians and artists of Ukraine.
JUNGHAE KIM is an internationally acclaimed performing and recording artist and a member of the faculty at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Her unique style blends a sparkling virtuoso technique with a gentle and lyrical sensibility that makes the harpsichord instantly accessible to the modern ear. New York Arts described her playing as “impressive” and characterized by “a supple flow and expressiveness.” Early Music America raved, “I have never listened as closely or enjoyed D’Anglebert as much. Kim’s playing is gallant and regal.”
KANGWON LEE KIM is currently concertmaster and associate artistic director of Madison Bach Musicians. She is a versatile violinist with a repertoire ranging from baroque to 21st century, using both period and modern violins. She has given recitals throughout the U.S. and in Korea, Canada, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, Norway, and the Czech Republic and has taught at several universities.
All attendees must show proof of full vaccination. Out of abundance of caution, we ask everyone to stay masked while inside. A live stream of the concert will be available on Facebook. Learn more about our series performing artists at www.communityconcertepworth.org/concerts
