TWO DAYS, FOUR GREAT PERFORMANCES
Community Concerts at Epworth concludes its 2021-2022 season with a Spring Piano Festival, celebrating the vast range of the keyboard repertoire over several centuries and the recent acquisition of a grand piano. The program includes performances on Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15, with afternoon and evening concerts each day.
A light supper reception will be provided between programs, with performances by the Berkeley High School jazz band and student string quartet.
DAY TWO, SUNDAY MAY 15th
PETER MIYAMOTO 4:30-5:30 pm
Peter Miyamoto has enjoyed a brilliant international career, performing to great acclaim in recital and as soloist in Canada, England, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Switzerland, China, and Japan, and in major US cities. Dr. Miyamoto holds degrees from the Curtis Institute of Music, Yale University School of Music, Michigan State University, and the Royal Academy of Music in London. He is currently Catherine Paine Middlebush Chair of Piano at the University of Missouri.
BRITTON DAY, with the Redwood Virtuosi 7:00-8:00 pm
A graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Britt received his Masters Degree and a Professional Studies Diploma in Piano Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He performed piano-four hand repertoire with Michael Tilson Thomas on the San Francisco Symphony Soundbox Series. Recent engagements include performances with members of the San Francisco Symphony on their Chamber Music Series in Davies Symphony Hall. Britt is currently a member of the accompanying staff at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
