Barefoot Chamber Concerts (“an enterprise noted for both its quality and informality” – San Francisco Classical Voice) presents really good music in the right acoustic and without the formality of most classical music events.
This concert marks the 30th Anniversary of Musica Pacifica (Judith Linsenberg, recorders; Alexa Haynes-Pilon, cello; and Charles Sherman, harpsichord. They will be joined by a host of celebrity guests artists, including but not limited to: Katherine Heater, harpsichord; Shira Kammen, strings; and Peter Maund, percussion, playing a fabulous mix of greatest hits from Musica Pacifica’s first 30 years.
Half the music will be from Musica Pacifica’s iconic “Dancing in the Isles” program, rousing Baroque folk and dance music from early England, Ireland, and Scotland. This features bespoke arrangements of traditional Irish and Scottish folk tunes, dance suites from the English theater, Jacobean masque music and more. The other half of the concert will feature baroque gems from Musica Pacifica’s 30 years of concerts, and more than 10 recordings.
In the fabulous wooden acoustic of the Swedenborgian Community Center, this will be an event to remember!
Please check the Barefoot Chamber Concerts website for the Covid protocol near the date of the concert! As of right now, 2/7/22, Barefoot Chamber Concerts will require masks, proof of vaccination, and maintaining 6’ distance between parties.
