Tom Yaron Meyerson

As a professional tuba player and dedicated educator, I bring a wealth of expertise to both performance and teaching. I had the honor of serving as the Interim Principal Tuba for the Iceland Symphony Orchestra during the 2023-2024 season. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of playing under the direction of esteemed conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Ivan Fischer, Cristian Măcelaru, Patrick Summers, Stéphane Denève, and Lahav Shani. Alongside my performance career, I am passionate about teaching and have extensive experience guiding students in tuba, euphonium, trumpet, trombone, and music theory. I’ve worked with musicians across all levels—from high school orchestras to underserved communities—focusing on building solid technical skills, fostering musical expression, and developing a strong understanding of music theory. Additionally, I have had the privilege of working with individuals with diverse abilities, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment. My approach combines my rich performance experience with a deep commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians, ensuring each student develops the tools and confidence to succeed.

I hold a Master of Music in Tuba Performance from Rice University (2023), a Performer Diploma from Indiana University (2020), and a Bachelor of Music from Tel Aviv University (2019).

I have had the privilege of studying with many exceptional teachers, including Dave Kirk, Daniel Perantoni, Paul Denson Pollard, Nimrod Ron, and Ariel Sasson, whose guidance has been instrumental in shaping my artistic and pedagogical approach.
