Nora Robbins

I’m Nora Robbins, music teacher and vocalist born and raised in the east bay area. I completed my BM in Vocal Performance from University of the Pacific, and during this time, I studied abroad in Europe and won the concerto competition to sing at our conservatory graduation. I also began to teach my own voice students; adults, teens and children. In 2009, I moved to NYC to pursue my Masters in Music Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Since then, I've maintained a private voice and piano studio and conducted youth choirs in NY and in the SF bay area while becoming certified in Kodaly and Orff-Schulwerk techniques to broaden my understanding of the singing voice and teaching young musicians. 

I’ve taught vocal and general music in public schools for the past 11 years in the Mt. Diablo and Martinez school districts. I taught music theory, choir, creative movement, recorders, xylophones, ukuleles, percussion and more! My time teaching in public education has been invaluable, but I’m excited to focus on a new adventure: my own private music studio. My passion is teaching all ages and abilities how to make music a part of their lives. I love to work with students who are just discovering music and those who have already begun their studies and hope to continue challenging themselves.
