Javier Iglesias Martin

Throughout my 20+ years of playing the cello I have had the privilege of studying in some of the best music schools in the world (New England Conservatory, Johns Hopkins University, USC) with some of the most respected cello teachers. Most recently, I earned my doctorate at the Thornton School of Music at USC. While pursuing my doctorate,  I was a teaching assistant at the University of Southern California, where I taught  cello and chamber music for the past six years. I am currently the cello professor at Pepperdine University and the Artistic Director of SOL-LA Music Academy in Santa Monica.

I have a passion for teaching anyone who really wants to learn this wonderful instrument. I really enjoy passing on my love for music, and in particular for the cello. As a teacher, I consider myself professional and supportive. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my students developing and improving every week and having fun with it!
