Mason Bates is a widely-performed composer of orchestral music featuring an expanded palette of electronic sounds and the rhythms of techno. As a curator of concerts, he is an advocate for bringing music to new spaces and new audiences. He was recently awarded the Heinz Medal in the Humanities.
