Established in 2002, Rockin' & Rollin' offers quality summer arts learning in a nurturing environment. Offerings include: Instrumental and vocal music, theater, arts & crafts; field trips, sports, new friends, and a whole lot of fun! Public performances after each session; three, two-week sessions offered.
Oakland Public Conservatory of Music Youth Ensembles
Ensembles include the Youth Jazz Orchestra; Jazz Comobs; Latin Salsa Band; OPC Symphony Orchestra; Zimbabwe Marimba Band; Symphonic Wind Ensemble; Count Basie Tribute Orchestra, Shekere Ensemble, and the Frederick Douglass Youth Ensemble.
Oakland Public Conservatory of Music I Am Me
I am Me uses the music of Branice McKenzie to teach life lessons. Through singing music from South African Township to Big Band Swing, children learn about friendship, community, listening, family, gratitude, manners, and much more through play, movement, and song.
Oakland Public Conservatory of Music Private Lessons, Preparatory Program
The Preparatory Program is available to students ages 9-18. This program offers conservatory quality training complete with private lessons, master classes, keyboard and theory classes, ensembles and performance opportunities. Benefits of the program include access to instruments, academic support, and college preparation support. Participants in the Preparatory Program are required to complete 30 hours of community service yearly.
Crystal Children's Choir Choral Program: 10 week sessions
Preparatory program is an exceptional experience to enable all preschool-aged children (3-6 year olds) to reach their full potential in singing, ear-training, vocabulary and body movement skills. Classes are offered by three sessions in a year, 10 weeks per session.
