Unlike pianists who can be self-reliant, most of the time instrumentalists, such as violinists or cellists, need to perform with accompaniment that makes ensemble experiences a mandatory part of their musical learning process. This Orchestral Ensemble gives the students the exposure to work in a large group setting and will help expand their teamwork and acute listening skills very early on. The guitar ensemble gives students an opportunity to benefit from the experience of playing with a group to build better listening skills, and the ability to work with others.

The Preparatory Program is available to students ages 9-18. This program offers conservatory quality training complete with private lessons, master classes, keyboard and theory classes, ensembles and performance opportunities. Benefits of the program include access to instruments, academic support, and college preparation support. Participants in the Preparatory Program are required to complete 30 hours of community service yearly.

Individualized approach to every student is important to us. Length of each lesson and pace of learning are determined by many factors, such as student's personal inclinations, level of advancement, age, etc. We make educational process enjoyable and successful by combining hard work and persistence, while making sure each student's needs are met and abilities are expanded to the fullest potential.

We believe that private instruction is the best way for anyone to learn how to play an instrument. One-on-one instruction means that students are given instruction tailored to their style of learning and the type of music they want to learn. A private teacher focuses 100% of their attention on that individual to ensure successful hand positioning, posture and other aspects of musical training.

Wind Sinfonia is the sister ensemble to Sinfonia and is designed to give entry-level wind and brass students experience in an ensemble setting while developing technical and performance skills. Led by Robin May and Debbie Walden, Wind Sinfonia and Sinfonia perform together three concerts a season and additional special events.

Representing over 27 schools from within and beyond the Napa Valley, the Napa Valley Youth Symphony is a full symphonic orchestra led by Ming Luke which provides professional musical training for the 50+ students involved in the program. Dedicated to performing the great masterworks of classical composers of the present and past centuries, the Youth Symphony performs three major concerts each year. An integral part of any young musician's training, the chamber music program will be available to any student in the Youth Symphony.

As we have many teachers on staff we are able to match students with a teacher that works best with their particular age, ability and interest.

Small group classes are perfect for introducing young students to the piano, guitar, or recorder. A specially balanced curriculum introduces musical concepts, builds self-esteem and helps motivate students. Classes include Guitar Team, Piano Team, Getting Ready for Piano, Getting Ready for Guitar, and Recorder Choir.
