David Kim

I am passionate about equipping students with the tools in order to develop and maintain a solid technical foundation as well as discovering the joys of musical expression. In my own training, I was taught to be curious and have a dialogue with my teachers, which helped me understand my own playing and potential. I am demanding in my approach and hope to instill my own passion for music to my students.

Private Lessons

The Alameda String Academy is a music school conveniently located in the heart of Alameda offering high quality instruction in violin, viola, cello and guitar, with a particular emphasis on chamber music.

Our goal is to provide more than “just lessons.”  Our talented faculty work hard to create a real community of musicians where students enjoy their music, play together in groups, and perform for each other in a kind, supportive and challenging environment.

Matthew Linaman
