Full-scale, costumed period balls with historically authentic dance music provided by some of the finest dance ensembles in the San Francisco Bay Area. Specializing in the music and dance of the late 18th century, Regency, Victorian and Edwardian period, PEERS also produces occasional Renaissance and Art Deco balls. PEERS balls are always preceded by pre-ball dance lessons and feature "Dance Hosts" to assist newcomers in learning the dances and costumes are always "admired, not required." PEERS balls also feature musical, dance, and theatrical entertainment ranging from historical dance demonstrations to mini-concerts (from Mozart to Gilbert & Sullivan) to interactive Edwardian Music Hall, and the notorious Theater of the Vampires (at the annual Le Bal des Vampires on the first Saturday in November).
First Saturdays, various locations, usually at the San Mateo Masonic Lodge Ballroom
