Convivium is a new vocal ensemble dedicated to exploring what choral music can be in the 21st century. Under the leadership of founding director Eric Tuan, the singers of Convivium bring passionate performances of thought-provoking, rarely heard repertoire to Bay Area audiences. The ensemble's pure yet vibrant sound is particularly suited to Renaissance and contemporary works; Convivium was recently selected by the National Association of Composers USA (NACUS) to present two concerts of newly composed works by NACUS members. Members of Convivium have sung with a wide range of Bay Area choral ensembles, including Volti, SF Choral Artists, Philharmonia Baroque, California Bach Society, and the Stanford Chamber Chorale. Ranging from psychologists to Google employees to medical students, all of these musicians share a love for challenging music and a passion for small-ensemble singing.
