Rachmaninoff "Vespers"

Presented by Vox Humana SF

On November 8, 2024, Vox Humana SF, under the direction of Don Scott Carpenter, will present an inspiring evening of choral music at Grace Cathedral, San Francisco. The centerpiece of the concert is Sergei Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vigil, Op. 37, a masterpiece of Russian Orthodox liturgical music known for its profound spiritual depth and rich harmonic textures. Complementing this will be sacred works by Ukrainian composer Dmitry Bortniansky, including his serene Blaho yest’ ispoviedatisia Hospodevi and the majestic Cherubic Hymn No. 7. These pieces highlight the beauty of Eastern Orthodox choral traditions. Join Vox Humana SF for an unforgettable performance in one of San Francisco’s most iconic spaces.
