The performance will be presented outside with a live, socially distanced student orchestra. The performance is available online live-streamed to the general public.
VCS student musician Kaden Connelley will perform Arutunian's Trumpet Concerto. Kaden (11th grade) is in his 9th year of study as a member of the VCS Radio Conservatory, achieving 2nd-degree honors-level -- studying trumpet performance, composition, and production. His trumpet technical coach is Donald Albrecht.
The orchestra will finish their concert in a big way with Beethoven's "Overture to Leonore no. 3" from his only opera, later known as "Fidelio."
The VCS Radio Symphony is the flagship performing ensemble at Vacaville Christian Schools. Their special study is in film score composition, historic cinematic score restoration, and live movie accompaniment -- especially for silent movies.
