The Terrible Adult Chamber Orchestra (TACO) Celebrates its 15th Anniversary with the World Premiere of Nancy Bloomer Deussen’s Final Orchestral Work in a Multimedia Presentation, Documentary, and Tribute Concert

Presented by Terrible Adult Chamber Orchestra

Composer Nancy Bloomer Deussen with Founder and Conductor of The Terrible Adult Chamber Orchestra Cathy Humphers Smith

The Terrible Adult Chamber Orchestra (TACO) is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a special tribute to the late, internationally renowned local composer Nancy Bloomer Deussen on March 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the De Anza College Visual and Performing Arts Center (VPAC) in Cupertino.

The event will feature the world premiere of Shoreline to Skyline, Deussen’s final orchestral work, commissioned for TACO. In addition, the film premiere of Silence to Sound will offer an intimate look into the composer’s creative process, connecting to the local landscapes that inspired her music. Local environmental groups, including MidPeninsula Open Space, Green Foothills, and NASA, will be on-site to share information about these landscapes.

There will be guest performances of Deussen's selected chamber works, followed by a reception.

Join us in honoring Nancy’s music and the incredible community TACO has fostered over the past 15 years.
