Two performances: Friday, November 15, 8pm & Saturday, November 16, 3pm
Supported by period instruments, including a double-consort of viols and brass, the Sonoma Bach Choir explores a broad range of Michael Praetorius (1571–1621) music, ranging from the vast array of chorale settings of Musae Sioniae to the instrumental dances of Terpsichore to the grand-scaled concertos of Polyhymnia Caduceatrix et Panegyrica (music for Christmas, Hymns of Peace and Praise). Chorales for Christmas, Easter, and New Year's are featured. Come join us for this colorful celebration of one of the West's greatest composers!
Join us for a BachGrounder 35 minutes before each concert to learn about the music and instruments featured.
Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door.
