The Albanian-born Kodheli has made a career as a restless creator, working alternately in rock, modern classical, and jazz settings with artists including Dave Douglas, Henry Threadgill, Meredith Monk, and Tom Harrell. He is an active composer for film and rochestra, and collaborated with Anderson in performances of her piece Letters to Jack, an autobiographical work devoted to her correspondence as a youth with John F. Kennedy, and as part of American Style, Anderons's 2017 joint project with iconic composer Philip Glass.
A sublime night of string duos and more, as Anderson and cellist Rubin Kodheli have developed a distinctive style of improvisation that features what Anderson calls their combined "hyper-instrument" - part acoustic, part electronic.
