Join us for a live performance of The Man with the Flower in His Mouth, a one-act play by Luigi Pirandello that explores the relationship to death taken by two characters who happen to meet in a bar late at night. One character reflects Everyman caught up in life's merry denials and predictable values. The other character, with reason, takes a different perspective.
Written in 1922, Pirandello’s drama was chosen by the British Broadcasting Corporation in 1930 to serve as a test demonstration of the new, experimental medium of television. Saturday’s performance, by actors John Baron and Joe Paulino, will recreate aspects of the play’s original production.
John A. Baron, a professional actor in his native England for over ten years, worked with England's top theatre companies and played leading roles in film and television.
Joe Paulino has been a San Francisco-based actor, voice talent, and musician for over 35 years.
