We couldn’t be more excited to welcome back Wyatt Underhill, associate concertmaster of the San Francisco Symphony, to perform Mendelssohn’s, sweeping timeless Violin Concerto with us on Saturday, December 14. This evening will be Wyatt’s third appearance with the SF Phil, and we’ll be playing in the intimate hall of the Wilsey Center, where Wyatt dazzled audiences last December.
In addition to Wyatt and the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto, we’ll be performing Tchaikovsky’s Sixth Symphony, known as the “Pathétique.” Tchaikovsky himself conducted the premiere of the work–his final completed symphony–in October 1893, just days before his death. Since the Wilsey Center (located on the top floor of the Herbst Theatre) is a smaller venue, tickets will go fast, and you won’t want to miss this evening of stunning music! Conducted by our music director, Jessica Bejarano.
