Island Holiday

Presented by San Francisco Girls Chorus

In place of its popular annual holiday concert at Davies Symphony Hall, the San Francisco Girls Chorus presents a lively virtual holiday concert featuring the SFGC Chorus School Levels I through IV and the Premier Ensemble performing varied music from the Caribbean and other islands as well as traditional holiday favorites. Highlights include three new SFGC commissioned works including Cosecha by Puerto Rican-born composer Angélica Negrón; special preview of choral-opera Tomorrow’s Memories: A Little Manila Diary by American composer Matthew Welch; and Music of the Birds by Iranian-American composer Sahba Aminikia in collaboration with Kronos Quartet, the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History and Sirkhane Social Circus School.
