SFEMF announces its 20th Anniversary Festival dedicated to groundbreaking electronic music. With one evening of fixed media multi-channel sound works and three nights of performances featuring a diverse cadre of internationally renowned and emerging composers, this year's lineup includes artists from across the field of electronic music ranging from psychedelic to cybernetic, noise, and shamanic practices. The festival will begin at Envelop SF, a next-generation immersive audio venue located within The Midway in San Francisco. This concert will present pre-recorded fixed media works by Amy X Neuburg, Jim O’Rourke and Italian duo My Cat Is An Alien. The festival continues with live performances Friday through Sunday at Brava Theater Center where SFEMF will present electronic composer pioneer Maggi Payne, mystic sound artist Joel St. Julien, cybernetic multimedia musicians MSHR, electronic noise composer John Weise, contemporary ritual creator and community healer Dohee Lee, cinematic soundscape synthesis composer Marc Kate, electronic pioneer and “king of sampling” Carl Stone, virtuosic bassoonist working with electronics Dana Jessen, and Swedish multi-voiced performance artist Svenska Elektriska Operaensemblen.
