San Francisco Contemporary Music Players will conclude its 2024-25 Concert Season with a program entitled “RE:voicing 2: Worlds Apart.” The title refers to Bay Area composer Richard Festinger’s cantata Worlds Apart (2020) which will receive its world premiere on the concert. Joining the Contemporary Music Players for Festinger’s work will be soprano Winnie Nieh, baritone Daniel Cilli, and the Bay Area chamber choir Volti. Also on the program will be the Bay Area premiere of Elliott Carter’s monumental Asko Concerto (1999-2000) and a set of works for a cappella chamber choir by Volti, featuring Jens Ibsens’ De Profundis and Aaron Jay Kernis’ Effortlessly, Love Flows. “RE:voicing 2: Worlds Apart” will be presented on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 7:30 PM at the Brava Theater. Our popular “How Music is Made” pre-concert talk will precede the program at 6:30 PM, with Artistic Director Eric Dudley joined by composer Richard Festinger.
