View the Orchestra Concert on SFCM's Site WHAT'S COOL ABOUT THIS EVENING: On tonight’s concert, you’ll hear two works by William Grant Still, who in addition to composing was the first Black American to conduct a professional symphony orchestra in the United States. The program also features a performance of Brahms’ Serenade No. 2 in A Major, Op. 16 and Copland’s Music for the Theatre. This concert is extra special: to invite you into the concert halls, select performances during the fall semester (like this one) include special intermission content, including virtual artist meet-and-greets, composer interviews, and mini master-classes with top faculty.
