Named "America's Best Young Classical Musician" by Time magazine (2001), violinist Hilary Hahn continues to awe audiences with her musical mastery and artistic curiosity in her second virtual artist-in-residence performance.
Hahn's residency is an exclusive series for the Philharmonic Society which will feature the premiere of a new commissioned piece piece by composer Michael Abels, who is best known for scoring the Academy Award-winning film Get Out and the highly anticipated follow-up Us, for which he was awarded "Discovery of the Year" at the 2019 World Soundtrack Awards.
Residency repertoire also includes:
BACH: Violin Partita No. 3 in E major, BWV 1006
AUERBACH: Lonely Suite for violin and piano, Op. 70, “Ballet for a Lonely Violinist"
MOZART: Violin Concerto No. 5 in A major, K.219, (only the concerto's solo violin parts are performed in a perspective called “Hahn Solo.”)
