After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the Pacific Islanders’ Cultural Association (PICA) is thrilled to be back with a scaled-back version of its popular annual San Francisco Bay Area Aloha Festival with a day-long Bay Area Aloha Concert featuring Nā Hōkū Hanohano Multi-Award Winner, Grammy nominated, and New Zealand’s Best International Pacific Music Award winner - Josh Tatofi - direct from Hawaii. The Bay Area Aloha concert takes place on Sunday, August 14 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the San Mateo County Event Center.
The day-long 2022 Bay Area Aloha Concert features a full line-up of entertainment, an Ohana Korner with activities for children, Community Booths, Arts & Crafts, Vendors, Food, Lei Making, Raffle Drawings for many prizes including miles from Hawaiian Airlines. From the headliner Josh Tatofi, additional music from Patrick Landeza and Sons, Pomaika’I, Ho’omana, and Manuia Polynesian Review. Spectacular Hula from Halau Ka Liko Pua O Kalaniakea, Halau I Ka Wekiu,and Halau Ke Kai O’Uhane/Halau Na Maka Olali.
Attendees may bring low-back beach chairs and blankets for concert seating and their own food and beverages; however, alcohol is not permitted. Picnic tables are available for additional seating. Sponsors include Hawaiian Airlines and the San Mateo County Event Center.
