An Afternoon of Latin Music with the Capriccio Trio

The audience will be treated to a selection of music by Latin composers. Featured will be the Second Piano Trio by Spanish composer Joaquin Turina, as well as works by Fernandez Arbos and Cesar Cui.

Cellist Dahna Rudin received her artist diploma from the Vienna University for Music and Arts, where she worked with Wolfgang Herzer, solo cellist of the Vienna Philharmonic, and coached chamber music with members of the Alban Berg String Quartet. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Pomona College. As a member of the Wiener Sinfonietta and the Belvedere Trio, she has toured Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the United States. Since returning to California, she has performed regularly with the Capriccio Trio and presented numerous solo recitals and concerto performances throughout the greater Bay Area. As an orchestral musician in the Bay Area, Ms. Rudin has performed with the Symphony Silicon Valley, the Midsummer Mozart Festival orchestra, and the San Francisco Symphony. Currently, she maintains a private studio in Mountain View where she offers private lessons and coaches chamber ensembles of various combinations.

Pianist Dmitriy Cogan has given public performances since his debut at age nine in his native Moscow. A US resident since 1974, he studied at the Julliard School of Music, where he received his Master of Music degree. Mr. Cogan has been a prize winner in such competitions as the Kosciuszko Chopin Piano Competition, the American Music Scholarship Association competition, the Robert Casadesus International Piano Competition and the Jose Iturbi International Piano Competition in Spain. He has given numerous recitals to critical acclaim in the US, Europe and Asia. His recent tour of Russia included a performance at the Rachmaninov Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. In collaboration with violinist Alexander Markov, Cogan can be heard on a recently released CD on the Erato Label.

Violinist Alex Eisenberg belongs to the famous Russian Violin School, which has produced a great number of extraordinary masters of the instrument. He began his studies in Odessa with his grandfather Michael Greenberg, and then continued his studies at the Moscow Conservatory. After leaving the Soviet Union, Mr. Eisenberg won the first prize and a gold medal in the Michelangelo Abbado Violin Competition in Sondrio, Italy. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has performed in Europe, South and North America with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Vienna Soloists, Odessa Philharmonic, Belgrade Radio Symphony Orchestra, Dubrovnik Festival Orchestra, Kansas City Chamber Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Heidelberg Chamber Orchestra.
