Viola Pandemonium continues in October with Jeremy Cohen as presenter on Oct. 11, who has dazzled the string world for decades with his violin and he is certainly no stranger to the viola!! With his extensive background in tango, jazz, classical, country, blues, rock and funk, Jeremy will share his knowledge with us we try out tango techniques from the Arrastre to the Tambour. Although tango is originally a vocal and dance form, instrumental tango is an important component and string instruments have all the fun with an array of sound effects to punctuate this thrilling music. Tango was born in the bars and streets of Buenos Aires after the turn of the 20th century and has grown in scope and popularity since its inception. Argentina's population filled with German, Italian, French and other European immigrants who brought their instruments and musical influences together with the Argentine traditions. There are intense traditions in tango and this is a unique opportunity to learn from someone who is fully versed in these. Join us for what is sure to be a fascinating session.
