The festival's opening weekend begins with “Concertos and Cantatas”, bringing together the extraordinary music of Joseph Haydn, J.S. Bach, and C.P.E Bach. A combination of inspiring instrumentals and emotional operatics mixed with lighthearted comedy tell stories of love and loss. Artists include Grammy Award-winning soprano Sasha Cooke, tenor Nicholas Phan, and Music@Menlo Artistic Directors David Finckel and Wu Han.
